Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.), one of the oldest essential oil-bearing spice and medicinal plants in world, is widely used folk medicine seasoning food. Thanks to its phytochemicals that have various bioactivity, recently, lots studies been conducted on coriander breeding. Classical breeding led development new varieties over time. These could not accelerate improvements some plant parameters such as oil yield, biotic-abiotic stress resistance, other quality characteristics. In this respect, it very important conduct basic research modern programs determine yield performance coriander. Although cultivation carried out different parts world today, genetic are limited. Studies with genome sequencing technology molecular markers, diversity population structure were investigated, a certain amount progress was obtained for This review aims highlight importance biotechnological advancements light information, solutions can be enhanced The will provide more practical information researchers.
